About
Hey, I’m Murray — the creator of Pure PSX, lifelong PlayStation fan, and someone who’s been pressing Start (or X) to continue since the late 90s.
My PlayStation story started when I was a small kid with a PS1. That grey box basically rewired my brain. From the boot-up sound to the demo discs to spending way too many hours on Metal Gear Solid, that was the moment I fell in love with gaming. And honestly, I never grew out of it.
Since then I’ve owned every single PlayStation home console — PS2, PS3 (Yes I got the YLOD, if you know you know), PS4, PS4 Pro, PS5, and now the PS5 Pro — each one becoming a little snapshot of whatever era of life I was in at the time. PlayStation has always been the platform I come back to, whether it's for deep single-player stories, late-night multiplayer sessions, or just checking out Sony’s weird and wonderful experiments.
Funny enough, the one thing I missed as a kid were the handhelds. So recently, I’ve been making up for lost time — picking up the PSP, the PS Vita, and of course the PlayStation Portal, which has become a huge focus for the channel. It’s been awesome rediscovering all the games and hardware I missed the first time around.
Pure PSX exists for one simple reason: to share that passion. Whether it's news, reviews, cloud streaming deep dives, accessories, nostalgia, or just the excitement of new games — this is a home for PlayStation fans who love the brand as much as I do.
I also host the Gaming Coffee Club podcast! Which is basically a weekly excuse to talk about all things gaming, drink too much coffee, and dive into random gaming chat and nostalgia. It’s the chilled, yet caffeine-powered corner of the internet for like mined coffee loving gamers, and yes… that’s why half the merch is mugs. If you enjoy laid-back conversations about games or hardware old and new, you’ll feel right at home.
Thanks for being here, supporting the channel, and being part of the PSX community. There’s a lot more to come — we're just getting started.
Currently playing on PS5 Pro: Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Balatro.
